Firework night seems to go on for weeks before and after the event and then, just when you think it's all over, we have Christmas and New Years Eve fireworks to contend with. If your dog is a sufferer during this time please see the youtubbe clip below for help and advice.
I have also discovered Dogs Trust have several youtube clips which play relaxing music for use over the firework season or even if you have to leaveyou pet when you go out. Go to http://youtu.be/ODU7qUj7jjw
Since working with Dogs Trust in 2007 and 2008 on their "Under Dog" TV Show I have been a keen supporter of their work to rehome unwanted dogs. Their website is stuffed with useful information from lists of poisonous plants and everyday items that can be a hazard to your dogs health to introducing a new baby into a home with dogs. By becoming a member of dogs trust your dogs are also automatically covered with thrid party insurance.

All dogs must, by law, be collared and tagged in a public place. There is a £5000 fine for not complying with this law but more importantly, if you pet goes missing having him/her tagged with your name, FULL address and postcode, and contact telephone numbers, increases your dogs chances of being returned to you quickly and safely. I have gone through many dog tags in my 30 plus years as a dog owner finding the engraved ones either mark my dogs coats and/or the information fades over time. So I was chuffed to find IdentiTag. I use their plastic tags which sound cheap and nasty but actually excellent quality, are light for the dog to wear, they don't mark their coats and are very clear to read; even when my dogs have been out on muddy walks. They last for the dogs lifetime and you can use both sides of the tag for your information.
Pet Planet is an excellent website to purchase a whole range of dog items and food for inexpensive prices. I have purchased flashing dog collars for £6:99 each which were on sale in the pet shops for £20 each; slow feeder bowls for £5 each which were £15 in the shops and; all kinds of other dog equipment too for grooming and training. Items are delivered within days on standard postage and I have never had to return anything. Worth a look around .
