I have owned, trained and cared for dogs for the past 30 plus years. I have had the privilage of owning many different breeds of dogs including German Spitz, Collies, German Shepherds, Catalan Sheepdog and terriers.
I began traning with my first dog at the Farnborough & District Dog Training Club where I became a qualified instructor with the British Institute of Professional Trainers.
I became interested in competition obedience and climbed the classes to work Championship Class C. In the mid 1990's I became interested in the new dog sport Heelwork to Music and again began to climb the classes winning the Crufts Heelwork to Music class in 2007. In 2010 I Captained the first Heelwork to Music/Freestyle Team GB at the World Show in Denmark where the Team bought home Gold and Silver medals.
I have been successfully teaching domestic dogs in the UK for more than 30 years, as well as teaching Heelwork to Music and competition obedience in Denmark, Ireland, Canada and throughout the UK.
I have undertaken some television work with my dogs including Eastenders and Grange Hill, I was a trainer on the Underdog Show and the Richard and Judy Show and my training group appeared on Lord Sugar's The Apprentice. In 2013 I choreographed a dog routine on the British Animals Awards hosted by Paul O'Grady. Click on the link to see my brilliant team of dogs and handlers performing. I am working the white collie.
In 2012 I became a Kennel Club Accredited Instructor in Heelwork to Music at Advanced level and Competition Obedience and became further accredited in Companion Dog at Advanced level in 2015.
In 2014 I became a mentor for the Kennel Club Accredited Instructors Scheme for the South Central Region and work to assist other professionals to become accredited. In 2015 I also began to Mentor the South West Region.
My career is now totally dogs. I enjoy training my own dogs as well as running domestic and competition classes in dog life skills, competition obedience and heelwork to music. I am available for workshops. My daytime is filled with dog walking, training and KCAI mentoring.
